IndooAR, our spatial information management system, is now Nefront Spatial Cloud

On 20 August 2026 we renamed IndooAR, our spatial information management system, to Nefront Spatial Cloud.

■ Why we changed the name

IndooAR started from one technique: work out where you are indoors, where GPS barely reaches, and show guidance right there in AR. “Indoor” and “AR” went straight into the name.

As people used it on real sites, what they asked us for grew well beyond wayfinding and AR content. Inspection records, equipment data, drawings — a building’s information was scattered across conversations, chat, Excel and paper, so it could not be found, could not be handed over, and stayed with individuals. Could that information itself be managed and shared, tied to place? We heard that more and more.

So we widened the product from fixing a position and showing it in AR into a platform that ties information to a place in the building, accumulates it, organizes it and makes it shareable. We are working to bring solutions built on this platform to a wide range of sites, starting with building maintenance and construction.

What we see beyond that is AI putting the accumulated spatial information to work, alongside smart glasses and robots. Once “what is where” is in order, the glasses you are wearing can have AI tell you what you need in that spot. A robot can understand how a building is laid out and move on its own. A world where smart glasses are ordinary is the place we have been aiming at from the start. You should not have to go looking for information — it should be in front of you when you want it. That is the state we are building on this platform. Showing things to people clearly in AR is one way of using it, and only one.

As the scope grew, “indoor” and “AR” — those two words alone — stopped describing what we actually do.

■ What we mean by the new name

Spatial — not a scope called “indoor”, not a way of showing called “AR”, but information tied to space itself. We put that one thing at the centre of the name. Where it is used and how it is shown will change with the use case.

Cloud — a building’s information tends to stay closed inside one person or one building. What you build up only means something once it is handed from person to person and from building to building. The name carries our intent to remain that shared place.

And we put our company name on it because this is our core platform — the one we have been aiming for since we founded the company.

A name that says “a platform that ties information to space” describes the product today better than the old one, which came from Indoor and AR. That is what led to this change.

Only the name has changed. There is no change to the features we provide or to the terms of any contract.

The product page URL changes as follows. Requests to the old URL are redirected to the new one automatically.
